Cyprus is renowned for halloumi cheese, the only cheese that can be grilled or fried without melting, protected by PDO status since 2021. The island produces Commandaria, the world’s oldest named wine still in production (since the Crusades). Cypriot lace (Lefkaritika) and silver filigree jewelry are famous handicrafts.
